All team leaders should report to reception on arrival to register and to any pre-booked meal tickets.

We welcome entries from individuals and groups of fewer than 8 dancers; please contact fill in this form and we will try to accommodate you.

Please note that we ask any dancers who wish to be included in the afternoon massed dancing to have a thorough knowledge of the dances that have been set as no recaps will be given.

Spectators

£1.50 per ticket in advance; programmes can be purchased on the day.

In the event of wet weather, programmes purchased on the day will not allow admittance to the Sports Hall or Performing Arts Centre.

Evening dance

Tickets £15 each, £5 for those in full-time education and those 11 and under. These prices include a supper with soft drinks.

The space in the Sports Hall limits the number of dancers that can be accommodated. All evening dance tickets will therefore be on a “first come, first served” basis.

You can buy extra Evening dance tickets not included in your original booking.

Ordered evening dance tickets, not already dispatched in the post, will be available for collection from reception on the afternoon of the Festival.

Brief “recaps” will be given unless otherwise stated, but because of acoustic difficulties in the hall we cannot guarantee that they will be clearly heard.

Dance Instructions

If you have any difficulties in accessing instructions for non-RSCDS dances please contact Catherine Livsey.

Wet weather arrangements

In the event of wet weather the afternoon dancing will be held indoors in two separate halls. Both venues will have live music. Gateways School has a Performing Arts Centre with excellent spectator facilities. The junior teams and a small number of adult teams will dance there. A full programme, including demonstrations, will be danced and Ian Slater will provide the music.

All other teams will dance a full programme in the Sports Hall to Marian Anderson and her band.

The White Rose Festival is planned as an outdoor event. However, this being England, we can never guarantee that the weather will be kind to us and we may be forced indoors. If it should be necessary we aim to make the indoor Festival as enjoyable as possible. We believe that the participants largely determine the atmosphere and we would ask that everyone enter into the spirit of the Festival to help others to enjoy it.

Please note: no food is allowed in the Performing Arts Centre or the Sports Hall.

Parking

Parking is freely available for both cars and coaches on site at the owner’s risk.

Caravans and camper vans may stay overnight, for a £10 charge. Please contact Irene Dracup for further information.

Refreshments

Gateways School has a restaurant which can provide lunches at £5 and high tea at £7 to be paid for at the time of ordering.

We invite afternoon participants and spectators to have an evening meal with us as this adds to the atmosphere of the Festival. Unfortunately, because of limited space and time, we are unable to offer evening meals to others.

You can buy extra meal tickets not included in your original booking.

Evening meals will be served at two sittings and your ticket which will allow admittance to the dining room and time for your meal. Prepaid meal tickets will be included in your pack to be collected from reception.

Should it be necessary to restrict the numbers dining with us vouchers will be issued on a “first come, first served” basis.

Tea and Coffee will be available to purchase at a site near to the ice-cream van during lunchtime and the afternoon interval.
