Dear Dancing Friends The organising committee of the White Rose Festival of Scottish Country Dancing would like to invite you and your team of dancers to take part in the next event. Date: Saturday, 7th July 2012 Venue:
The Gateways School , Harewood, Leeds , LS17 9LE The school has excellent facilities. It is in a rural setting opposite the Harewood estate approximately 3 miles north of the Leeds city boundary on the Harrogate road. It is easily accessible from all directions using the motorway network. Saturday Afternoon, 7th July, 14.00 - 17.00 (Assemble at 13.45) There will be massed open air dancing for adult and junior teams, opportunities for demonstrations of pre-selected dances and ladies’ and men’s Highland displays. Dancing will be to George Meikle and the Lothian Band with piping from Alan Harrison. Ian Slater will also play if the event is held indoors because of wet weather. To celebrate the Leeds Branch 50th anniversary this year our theme is ‘Leeds’. Please note that arrangements can be made this year for individual dancers or small groups. Saturday Evening, 7th July, 19.00 - 22.30 There will be a social dance to George Meikle and the Lothian Band in the sports hall at Gateways School. Admission will be by ticket only, because of restrictions on numbers that can be accommodated. The Festival Committee regrets the increase in evening ticket prices.
