Welcome to the White Rose Festival; the committee sincerely hopes the weather is kind to us this year and that you will have an enjoyable day.
The Afternoon
All team leaders are asked to report to reception on arrival. Meal and evening dance tickets are collected from here on the day.
Additional information, programmes, field position and the wet weather plan for indoors are on the website.
Teams will be asked to gather in the assembly area on the field at 1.30pm.
At 1.30pm the piper will start playing to set the scene and then play for the Grand March. After a brief opening ceremony the afternoon dancing will start.
Adult teams will rotate their position on the field after the interval and these positions will be given to team leaders before the afternoon.
Junior dancers remain in their starting positions throughout the afternoon.
Wet Weather Arrangements
If the field is not suitable for dancing the Festival will take place in the Sports Hall.
A wet weather plan for the Sports Hall can be found on the website.
If it is necessary to move indoors during the afternoon the programme will continue from where it was interupted.
There will be no rotation of teams indoors
Admission indoors for all dancers and specators is by ticket (programme) only. There may need to be a restriction on the number of spectators.
In case of emergency
On the day the information desk telephone number will be: 07532 038118 or 07887 493113.
Photography
In order to comply with regulations it is necessary for us to inform dancers and spectators that photography and video of children’s groups is restricted to parents and accredited group leaders. They may only photograph or video groups in which their own children are participating. Group leaders are asked to provide a stick-on or tie-on label which will enable the Festival organisers to identify approved photographers. With respect to child protection all dancers and spectators are also asked to report anything suspicious immediately.
